I crochet hook and yarn needle
STITCHES USED
Chain (ch), single crochet (sc), slip stitch (sl st), treble crochet (tr)
SPECIAL STITCH
BPsc: Back-post single crochet—Insert hook from back to front and then to back again around post of stitch, yarn over and draw up loop, yarn over and draw through both loops on hook.
NOTES
1. Skirt is worked in joined rounds, beginning at waist and working down to hem. Join with slip stitch at the end of each round.
2. To change color, work last stitch of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete stitch.
Proceed with new color.
SKIRT
With A, ch 90 (105); taking care not to twist ch, join with sl st in first ch to form a large ring.
Round 1 (drawstring round): Ch 1, sc in first 1 (2) ch, ch 1, sk next ch, *sc in next ch, ch 1, sk next ch; repeat from * around; join with sl st in first sc—90 (105) sts (consisting of 45 (53) sc and 45 (52) ch-1 sps).
Round 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc and ch-1 sp around; join with sl st in first sc—90 (105) sc.
Rounds 3 and 4: Ch 1, working in back loops only, sc in each sc around; join with sl st in first sc.
Begin Chevron Pattern
Round 5: Ch 3 (counts as first tr here and throughout) 3 tr in same sc as join, tr in next sc, [sk next sc, tr in next sc] 6 times, *4 tr in next 2 sc, tr in next sc, [sk next sc, tr in next sc] 6 times; repeat from * around to last sc, 4 tr in last sc; join with sl st in top of beginning ch—90 (105) sts (arranged in 6 (7) chevrons).
Round 6: Ch 1, BPsc around each tr around; join with sl st in first sc.
Round 7: Ch 3, 4 tr in same sc as join, tr in next sc, [sk next sc, tr in next sc] 6 times, *5 tr in next 2 sc, tr in next sc, [sk next sc, tr in next sc] 6 times; repeat from * around to last sc, 5 tr in last sc, change to B in last tr made; join with sl st in top of beginning ch—102 (119) sts. DRAWSTRING
With A, work a chain, 36 (40)"/91.5 (124.5)cm long. Fasten off.
FINISHING
Weave drawstring through ch-sps of Round 1 of skirt. Using yarn needle, weave in all ends.
